
Scholarships
The Forest Hills Public Schools Foundation, in conjunction with each high school, awards scholarships to students based on educational or extracurricular achievements. If you would like to set up a scholarship, we invite you to contact the Foundation office.
Following are the scholarships that the Foundation administers. Please contact the appropriate school counselor’s office to obtain an application and/or discuss the criteria for application and award.
Forest Hills Central
Scott Chrisler Memorial Soccer Scholarship: award to a graduating senior, and a soccer player. This individual must have demonstrated leadership qualities, good sportsmanship, have worked to the fullest extent of his academic ability, and displayed a high level of moral integrity, improvement in soccer, and dedication to the sport and team. ($500)
Diane Wisniewski Memorial Scholarship: applicants must exemplify integrity, dedication and commitment to others. A minimum GPA of 3.3 at the end of the 7th semester, and the intent to pursue a career in education are required. The recipient must also be involved in extracurricular activities, community service or athletics. ($500)
Peter Dion Scholarship: awarded to a graduating senior who is an alumnus of Pine Ridge Elementary School. The recipient must intend to pursue a career in education at the college or university of their choice, and have demonstrated leadership, community and school service, and academic excellence. ($500)
Forest Hills Eastern
Diane Wisniewski Memorial Scholarship: applicants must exemplify integrity, dedication and commitment to others. A minimum GPA of 3.3 at the end of the 7th semester, and the intent to pursue a career in education are required. The recipient must also be involved in extracurricular activities, community service or athletics. ($500)
Forest Hills Northern
Diane Wisniewski Memorial Scholarship: applicants must exemplify integrity, dedication and commitment to others. A minimum GPA of 3.3 at the end of the 7th semester, and the intent to pursue a career in education are required. The recipient must also be involved in extracurricular activities, community service or athletics. ($500)
Charles Anderson Memorial Scholarship: awarded to a community spirited citizen, who demonstrates commitment to volunteerism both in and out of school. This individual must possess the ability to create feelings of goodwill between both students and faculty. While academics are an important element of this scholarship, equally important are the qualities of character, integrity, and a warm sense of humor. ($4,000)
Chris Wietke Memorial Scholarship: awarded to a graduating senior with demonstrated financial need. A preference shall be given to students entering the field of education. The student shall have participated in extracurricular activities in athletics or academics. The scholarship shall be utilized by the recipient for tuition or book fees for the recipient’s college or university. ($1,000)
Lisa Verbrugge Memorial Scholarship: awarded to a graduating senior who participated in one or more extracurricular activities during each year of high school, (not necessarily athletics). The recipients also must have exhibited a high level of moral integrity, supported the administration, staff, and student body of Forest Hills Northern High School and have taken an active role in church and/or community life. ($2,500)
Ernie Popiel Memorial Scholarship (2): awarded to students who participated in Forest Hills Northern athletics. The individuals must have demonstrated academic excellence with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, maintained outstanding leadership qualities on and off the playing field and been positive social influences in their school and community. ($1,000)
